Farm Field Trips
Umpqua Valley Farm to School provides on-farm field trips for students throughout Douglas County. Each field trip gives students the opportunity to learn about life on a farm, from seed to table. Farmers and farm workers provide an overview of what it’s like to work on a farm, and then students have a chance to plant seeds, harvest vegetables, and prepare a recipe using vegetables they harvest that day. Field trips require many volunteers and coordination, so if you’re interested in volunteering for one of these trips, head to our Volunteer Page and fill out the form!
Registration is open for 2023 Spring Field Trips!
We have a series of Spring field trips available on a first-come, first-served basis to any elementary school in Douglas County. There is no cost to participate and we encourage schools that do not have their own funding for farm field trips to register. Space is limited to one grade level from one school per trip.
